This passenger side airbag assembly houses the reaction canister and airbag. As a high-profile safety component that undergoes explosive testing, weld-integrity of the assembly is extremely important. KEI certifies its welding processes, and employs individuals certified in many types of welding. Initial tooling and delivery of parts took 4 weeks. The prototype tooling eventually produced over 500 component parts and assemblies.
